Mandate That Council Listens and Responds
Propose a formal motion requiring council members to acknowledge and respond to resident emails within a clear, reasonable timeframe — complaint-based, with no new staff or budget. No more unanswered emails.
Hold me to it
These are the 13 commitments I campaigned on. This page is my public accountability list: each priority stays here for the full term, and its status gets updated as work moves forward. If something stalls, you'll see that here too.
Propose a formal motion requiring council members to acknowledge and respond to resident emails within a clear, reasonable timeframe — complaint-based, with no new staff or budget. No more unanswered emails.
Bridge the information gap by publishing plain-language council updates on this site and social media after every meeting, bringing important decisions directly to residents.
Stay directly reachable long after election day — public cell number (226-457-2959), email, and the issue-report form on this site, with every message read personally.
Keep development respectful of infrastructure capacity, farmland, and Mitchell's small-town identity — with proactive involvement in planning decisions, not rubber-stamping.
Conduct a thorough review of current infrastructure networks to identify critical gaps and prioritize areas needing immediate improvement.
Review development bylaws to protect Mitchell's character — sensible requirements like trees on new lots and a balanced mix of housing styles — while making existing bylaws easier to find and understand.
Propose incentives or evaluation criteria that prioritize developers who source a minimum percentage of their labour force locally.
Advocate for proactive road repair schedules and dependable winter snow-clearing standards to keep streets and concession roads safe year-round.
Act as a strong municipal voice to the Province on childcare access and pursue creative local solutions for West Perth families.
Push for more housing options — purchase and rental — while keeping growth responsible: parkland dedicated up front in subdivisions, infrastructure planned before approvals.
Support and improve recreation facilities, protect recreation funding, and require parkland to be dedicated and scheduled up front as part of subdivision approval — not after development.
Demand receipts for every major spend: full lifecycle costs on the table, reserves built on a plan, and plain-language budget reporting residents can actually follow.
Support a vibrant downtown and local businesses with a test-first approach — try ideas, measure what works, and support the Heron Park edge development done right.
After significant council decisions or milestones, the relevant priority's status changes here — with a link to the council update that explains what happened. Have a question about where something stands? Ask me directly.
